Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Host ensures every guest receives a positive and lasting first and last impression. This includes greeting guests warmly as they enter, efficiently seating them, and managing the flow of the restaurant to optimize table turnover while maintaining high service standards. Hosts play a vital role in assigning guests to appropriate tables based on their needs and server rotation, a task that requires strong organizational skills and awareness of the dining area. They also provide guests with menus, answer and transfer telephone inquiries, and accurately input takeout orders into the point-of-sale system.\n\nBeyond these operational tasks, the Host engages with guests to ensure their satisfaction with the food and service, addressing any concerns or complaints promptly and professionally. Communication with kitchen staff, management, and serving staff is ongoing throughout service to ensure smooth dining experiences. Part of the Host's responsibility includes taking and recording dining reservations, inspecting the cleanliness and setup of dining and serving areas, including restrooms, and assisting other staff when necessary. This may involve serving food or beverages, bussing tables, or directing guests to the bar area while they wait for a table. Knowledge of the establishment's MVP Program is essential for this role, as is maintaining a positive and professional demeanor at all times.\n\nCandidates for the Host position should expect to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment requiring stamina and a strong customer service focus. The role may involve standing and walking for extended periods, multitasking, and handling various physical demands such as lifting up to 40 pounds. Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas
  • assign guests to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seatings
  • provide guests with menus
  • answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls
  • input takeout orders accurately into POS system
  • speak with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, respond to complaints, or make conversation
  • maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and guests' concerns are addressed
  • receive and record guest dining reservations
  • inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup
  • inform guests of establishment specialties and features
  • inspect restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies and clean restrooms when necessary
  • assist other restaurant workers by serving food and beverages or by bussing tables
  • direct guests to bar area while waiting for a table
