Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
- strong communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
- knowledge of POS systems
- team player with a positive attitude
- understanding of restaurant operations
- basic math skills for handling orders and payments
Job Duties
- Greet guests and seat them at tables or in waiting areas
- assign guests to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that servers receive an appropriate number of seatings
- provide guests with menus
- answer telephone calls and respond to inquiries or transfer calls
- input takeout orders accurately into POS system
- speak with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and service, respond to complaints, or make conversation
- maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff, and customers to ensure that dining details are handled properly and guests' concerns are addressed
- receive and record guest dining reservations
- inspect dining and serving areas to ensure cleanliness and proper setup
- inform guests of establishment specialties and features
- inspect restrooms for cleanliness and availability of supplies and clean restrooms when necessary
- assist other restaurant workers by serving food and beverages or by bussing tables
- direct guests to bar area while waiting for a table
- strong MVP Program knowledge
- maintain a positive and professional approach to coworkers and customers
