Job Description
Hestan Napa is an innovative and premier destination embodying the full Hestan brand lifestyle located in Napa, California. As the first-of-its-kind establishment, Hestan Napa offers guests a unique experience that seamlessly integrates award-winning cookware, luxury residential appliances, curated wines, and unforgettable culinary moments. The brand is known for its commitment to delivering exceptional quality and design in every product and service it offers, making it a standout location for culinary enthusiasts and aficionados of fine living. This establishment is designed not only as a retail and dining destination but as a lifestyle experience where guests can fully immerse themselves in the world of Hestan.
The Host position at Hestan Napa is a vital role within this upscale environment, serving as the welcoming face and first point of contact for all guests. This is a front-of-house role that reports directly to the Assistant General Manager and requires a polished, professional demeanor combined with genuine warmth. The ideal candidate will have a passion for hospitality and thrive in a refined, guest-focused setting where creating memorable experiences is paramount. This role extends beyond the traditional host duties, involving interactions that cover various facets of the establishment including the restaurant, kitchen equipment showroom, and the culinary wares department. The Host is responsible for setting the tone of the guest's visit and ensuring that their experience aligns with Hestan Napa's high standards of service and excellence.
In this multifaceted role, the Host manages key operational systems such as the Toast Reservation System for restaurant seatings and the Toast POS system for food and beverage orders. Additionally, the Host handles sales transactions related to culinary ware and kitchen equipment through the Shopify POS system, requiring an aptitude for both hospitality and retail sales. The position demands strong organizational skills and a proactive approach to mastering the comprehensive Hestan Napa product line, which includes detailed knowledge of food preparation methods, menu items, beverage selections, and luxury kitchen equipment. A successful Host must be knowledgeable not only about the restaurant's culinary offerings but also about the features and benefits of the products sold in the showroom, enabling informed recommendations and engaging guest conversations.
Because this position plays a central role in guest service, it requires adherence to all relevant food and beverage regulations, including the completion of the A.B.C. Responsible Beverage Service Certification and compliance with liquor laws, especially concerning service to minors and intoxicated patrons. The Host is also required to obtain a California Food Handlers Card shortly after hire to ensure health and safety standards are met. Attendance at regular training sessions, product knowledge seminars, and service improvement workshops is essential for maintaining the high level of service expected at Hestan Napa. The role offers a competitive hourly wage between $25 and $28, commensurate with experience, supplemented by tips and commissions. Hestan Napa values equal opportunity and upholds federal employment law rights for all applicants.
