Job Requirements

high school diploma or equivalent
prior experience with POS and online reservation systems
ability to stand for up to 6 hours
ability to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 50 pounds
completion of A.B.C. Responsible Beverage Service Certification
obtain California Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire
proficiency in English
ability to work in a refined, guest-focused environment
strong organizational skills
proactive approach to learning product line

Job Qualifications

minimum of 2 years experience in a high-quality dinner house environment
prior experience with POS and online reservation systems
proven ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations

Job Duties

demonstrate thorough understanding of preparation methods, ingredients, portion sizes, culinary ware collections, and key selling points for kitchen equipment
be knowledgeable about the restaurant's menu to answer guest inquiries and offer recommendations
ensure accurate service of food items, including any required tableside preparation
understand the beverage menu and provide informed recommendations
properly serve beverages, including opening, decanting, and pouring wine
operate the Toast Reservation System to audit, confirm, and manage guest reservations
greet guests upon arrival and departure, ensuring a welcoming experience
sales of culinary wares and kitchen equipment
maintain in-depth knowledge of Hestan Napa's product lines
engage with guests to answer questions and recommend products
accurately process food and beverage orders through the Toast POS system
ensure all items are entered into the system before service
handle culinary ware and kitchen equipment transactions via the Shopify POS system
compliance with liquor regulations
complete the A.B.C. Responsible Beverage Service Certification
adhere strictly to all A.B.C. liquor laws, especially regarding service to minors and intoxicated individuals
obtain a California Food Handlers Card within 30 days of hire
follow all guidelines outlined in the Hestan Napa Standards of Service Manual
attend scheduled meetings, including wine seminars, product training sessions, and service improvement workshops
perform other job-related tasks as assigned by management
