Job Description

Cracker Barrel is a well-established American restaurant and retail company known for its unique blend of hospitality, hearty meals, and nostalgic shopping experiences. Founded in 1969, Cracker Barrel has grown into a cherished gathering place where family, friends, and guests alike can reconnect over comfort food and Southern-inspired dishes. The chain’s atmosphere is warm and inviting, providing more than just a meal but a complete experience that feels like coming home. With over 70,000 team members nationwide, Cracker Barrel prides itself on fostering a culture of belonging, teamwork, and genuine care for its employees and guests alike. The company is renowned not only for its food offerings but also for its commitment to employee growth and well-being, making it a leader in the hospitality industry.

As a Host at Cracker Barrel, you become an integral part of this exceptional guest experience. This role is centered on making every guest feel welcome and cared for the moment they step through the door. Hosts are essential in managing the flow of the dining room by handling the waitlist with efficiency and a friendly demeanor, keeping guests updated, and ensuring that each table is prepared for the next visit. The position is ideal for those who enjoy interacting with people, stay calm under pressure, thrive in a supportive, team-oriented environment, and bring a positive, approachable energy to their workday.

Cracker Barrel welcomes applicants with or without prior restaurant experience, emphasizing on-the-job training to build skills and confidence from day one. The company values its employees and offers competitive pay, including same-day pay access, to reward hard work. Health insurance eligibility starts immediately for both full and part-time employees, along with vacation time and an employee assistance program to support personal and professional well-being. Growth opportunities are abundant through Cracker Barrel’s industry-leading PAR training program, and employees can benefit from programs such as 401(k) plans with company matching, employee stock purchase plans, and continuous recognition initiatives.

The culture at Cracker Barrel is built on support, belonging, and celebration of the team. New employees receive thorough onboarding and training to thrive in their roles, coupled with opportunities for development and connection through events and recognition programs. Additionally, staff enjoy exclusive perks, including a 35% discount on food and retail items, along with unique savings on home, travel, and cell phone plans.

Joining Cracker Barrel means becoming part of a community that values more than just a job – it values moments of connection and shared pride in a commitment to excellence and heartfelt service. If you are someone who enjoys making guests feel at home, handles busy environments gracefully, and brings a smile and positive energy each day, Cracker Barrel invites you to apply and find your place in their team where you will experience growth, support, and genuine appreciation.
