Cracker Barrel is a cherished American restaurant and retail chain, known for its hearty home-style cooking and welcoming atmosphere. Since its founding in 1969, Cracker Barrel has grown to become a national favorite with over 70,000 team members across the United States. Its unique combination of classic Southern cuisine, nostalgic decor, and retail shopping experience creates a warm place where guests don't just eat but connect and feel a sense of belonging. The company is deeply rooted in the values of community, teamwork, and hospitality, reflecting its commitment to more than just serving meals — it offers memorable experiences for its guests and a fulfilling workplace for its employees.
This listing is for the Host position at Cracker Barrel, a vital role focused on creating the first and lasting impression for every guest who walks through the door. As a Host, you will be the friendly face that welcomes guests warmly, manages the dynamics of the dining room, and ensures the overall dining flow is smooth and enjoyable. The employment type includes both full-time and part-time opportunities, with competitive and timely pay that emphasizes the company’s commitment to valuing its team members. No prior restaurant experience is necessary as Cracker Barrel provides comprehensive training through its industry-leading PAR (Positive, Attitude, Respect) training program starting from day one.
In this role, you'll be responsible for managing the waitlist effectively, updating guests with a positive attitude and a smile, and making certain that each table is properly prepared for the next group. The Host role requires an individual who enjoys engaging with people, thrives in busy, fast-paced environments, and works exceptionally well in a team setting. The culture at Cracker Barrel fosters a sense of belonging and encourages personal and professional growth, offering development opportunities and support from day one.
Employees at Cracker Barrel benefit from a robust package of perks, including health insurance eligibility starting on your first day of employment, vacation time, and an employee assistance program to support well-being. Additionally, there are financial benefits such as a 401k plan with company matching after 90 days, an Employee Stock Purchase Program, and various discounts on food and retail products. The company prides itself on its recognition programs and employee events which help build community and keep morale high.
Joining Cracker Barrel means becoming part of a company that values every team member, supports growth and development, and provides a workplace where employees feel respected and appreciated. Whether greeting guests, rolling out biscuits, or helping behind the scenes, you will be making moments count every day. If you have a positive attitude, a warm and approachable demeanor, and the desire to join a team-first culture, this role is an excellent opportunity to grow and thrive within a supportive, nationally recognized company. Cracker Barrel welcomes all qualified applicants and is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion.
