We are seeking a Host to join our front-of-house team who will be the first point of contact for our guests. This role is vital as it sets the tone for the overall experience. The Host will greet and seat customers promptly, ensuring a smooth flow of service and managing wait lists efficiently. Beyond greeting, the Host will also answer phone calls, take to-go orders, handle cash transactions responsibly, and support sales efforts through suggestive selling and promoting daily specials. The role requires excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously under a fast-paced restaurant environment.

In addition to greeting guests and managing seating, the Host will support the front-of-house staff by maintaining a clean and organized environment, responding to guests’ additional needs or concerns, and serving as a knowledgeable resource about the restaurant’s offerings, operational hours, and upcoming promotions. Physical stamina is essential, as the position involves standing, walking, and light lifting throughout shifts. This hourly position also includes job-related training to ensure proficiency and confidence in performing daily responsibilities effectively. This role is ideal for individuals enthusiastic about hospitality and eager to develop a career in the food service industry.

Job Requirements

  • Must be 16 years old
  • Ability to walk and stand 100% of the time
  • Ability to operate cash register and POS system
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
  • Comfortable with phone communication
  • Willingness to complete training and validations
  • Basic math skills for handling money

Job Duties

  • Greet and seat customers immediately within 1 minute in a systematic fashion
  • Answer the phone
  • Run a wait list
  • Take to go orders and perform correct money transactions up to twenty times during a scheduled shift
  • Suggestively sell and upsell
  • Promote store features and specials
  • Project a positive image always
  • Assist other FOH staff members as needed
  • Observe customers and respond to additional requests or complaints
  • Act as a resource for guests regarding the restaurant, promotions, specials, staff, menu, hours of operation
  • Perform other functions assigned by management such as take out trash, stocking, checking restrooms, bus tubs, refill ice and wash glassware
