This position is an excellent opportunity for a guest-focused individual with strong communication skills to join the welcoming and dynamic team at Colony Grill. The role primarily involves greeting and seating guests, managing waiting areas, and ensuring an exceptional dining experience from the moment guests arrive until they leave. A candidate must be a natural people person capable of creating a warm and inviting atmosphere quickly and consistently, displaying attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities at once. This role requires excellent organizational and communication abilities to foster positive interactions among guests and staff members.

Additionally, the position includes responsibilities within the takeout section, requiring the ability to handle a high volume of orders, answer phones with a gracious demeanor, accurately record orders, and manage payments through a cash register efficiently. This dual-function role demands versatility, patience, and a strong customer service orientation. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Ability to carry items weighing between 10 and 30 pounds
  • Effective communication skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Greet incoming guests with exceptional hospitality and seat them efficiently
  • Manage the flow of guests into the dining and bar areas, providing accurate wait times to incoming guests as appropriate
  • Manage waiting areas and communicate consistently with waiting guests to support a positive experience prior to seating
  • Assign guests to tables suitable for their needs and according to rotation so that flow of service remains seamless and properly paced
  • Engage guests and ensure a smooth handoff to the service staff
  • Assist with restaurant set-up and keep the host stand and other high-traffic restaurant areas clean, organized, and presentable for guests
  • Staff high-volume take-out section as scheduled/when needed
  • Answer phones, recording orders accurately, while providing gracious service to takeout guests
  • Operate cash register efficiently to accept payments for takeout orders
