Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a well-established American chain known for its unique combination of Southern cuisine and retail offerings that create a warm, welcoming environment for guests. Founded in 1969, the company has grown steadily to become a beloved destination for millions of guests seeking delicious food, abundant servings, and a cozy atmosphere that feels like home. At its core, Cracker Barrel is more than just a restaurant and retail store; it is a place where community and connection flourish, where people gather not only to eat but also to share meaningful moments. With over 70,000 team members nationwide, Cracker Barrel is committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive workplace culture that values teamwork, growth, and belonging.
The role of a Host at Cracker Barrel is both dynamic and essential to the guest experience. As the first point of contact for guests, Hosts play a critical role in making every guest feel welcomed and valued from the moment they step through the door. This position involves warmly greeting guests, managing waitlists efficiently, and maintaining an inviting and organized dining environment. Hosts keep the flow of the dining room moving smoothly by coordinating seating arrangements and updating guests with a friendly demeanor. This role demands a positive attitude, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to maintain composure in busy situations.
Cracker Barrel believes in providing its employees with the necessary support to succeed, regardless of prior restaurant experience. Training is comprehensive and ongoing, through their industry-leading PAR program designed to help team members grow and thrive in their careers. Employees benefit from competitive weekly pay and can access same-day pay, ensuring they are well-compensated for their hard work. Additionally, the company offers health insurance eligibility from the first day of employment for full and part-time employees, plus vacation time and an employee assistance program to support overall well-being.
Career advancement is encouraged, with opportunities starting immediately from day one, including 401k plans with company matching contributions available after 90 days and an employee stock purchase program. Cracker Barrel also fosters a culture of belonging through onboarding, continuous training and development, recognition programs, and employee events designed to build camaraderie and celebrate success. Unique perks such as a 35% discount on food and retail items and exclusive benefits known as Biscuit Perks—including discounts on home, travel, and cellphone services—make being part of the Cracker Barrel family rewarding beyond the job itself.
Choosing to join Cracker Barrel as a Host means stepping into a role that is about more than just managing tables; it is about making meaningful moments that guests and team members alike will remember. The company invites motivated individuals who bring warmth, enthusiasm, and a team-first spirit to apply, promising a welcoming environment that values every person’s contribution.
