This role is essential in welcoming guests with a warm smile, guiding them through the seating process, and introducing them to their servers with kindness and professionalism. The Host is responsible for managing the restaurant waiting list during peak hours, ensuring that guest expectations are appropriately set and that each guest feels valued and appreciated. Beyond greeting and seating guests, a Host at The Capital Grille is also tasked with maintaining cleanliness and sanitation at various guest touch points throughout their shift, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in hospitality or customer service
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods
- Availability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards

Job Duties
- Greet guests warmly and engage in friendly conversation when seating them
- Manage the restaurant waiting list during high volume periods to set accurate guest expectations
- Introduce guests to their servers ensuring smooth service transitions
- Regularly clean and sanitize guest touch points to maintain a safe and pleasant environment
- Thank guests sincerely as they leave and invite them to return
- Handle guest inquiries and assist with seating arrangements
- Coordinate with management and staff to improve guest service flow
