We are currently seeking a part-time Host / Hostess to join the team at Reading Country Club, a prestigious venue under the Troon network. This role is pivotal in ensuring that every guest receives a warm and professional welcome, setting the tone for a memorable dining experience. The Host / Hostess acts as the first point of contact for guests upon their arrival, greeting them with friendliness and promptly escorting them to their assigned tables. Efficiently managing the seating arrangements through a station rotation while overseeing guest lists and enforcing check procedures is essential. The position involves assigning and supervising opening and closing side duties, confirming that all service stations are properly set up before service staff depart.

Additionally, the Host / Hostess supports service staff by assisting with side work, bussing tables, and taking cocktail orders when necessary. Maintaining the reservation book, handling incoming telephone calls, and noting any special requests from guests are key responsibilities. A strong knowledge of menu items, prices, and general service procedures is required, along with upholding standards of appearance and cleanliness in all service areas. The role demands visibility on the dining room floor to remain accessible to guests, staff, and management, including checking tables before service to ensure proper settings. Communication of guest requests and concerns to department managers is crucial, as is incorporating safe work practices into daily tasks. Reliability and regular attendance, alongside flexibility during peak periods such as golf and holiday seasons, contribute to the success of the role. This position requires a dedication to exceptional service and teamwork within a vibrant and fast-paced environment.
