The available position is for a Restaurant Host/Hostess, a pivotal role designed to shape the very first impression guests have upon entering the establishment. As a host or hostess, you will be the welcoming face that greets arriving and departing guests with hospitality and warmth, ensuring a smooth and well-organized flow within the restaurant. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about customer service and interested in fostering a friendly and comfortable environment for diverse clientele, including families, groups, and solo diners.
The role entails managing the waitlist during busy periods to maintain an efficient guest seating process and providing necessary assistance to servers and guests alike. You will play a key role in accommodating guests' special needs, such as providing boosters, highchairs, or handling accessibility requirements. The role requires attention to detail and a proactive approach to maintaining cleanliness and organization within the restaurant environment, including tidying the work area and setting up ambiance elements like feature boards and balloons.
Although prior experience as a host, hostess, greeter, or maître d is preferred, it is not mandatory, making this an excellent entry-level opportunity for individuals eager to begin their career in the hospitality or restaurant industry. Job Requirements
- Be 16 years or older to be considered
- Opens door for guests arriving and departing
- Accommodate any special needs of guests including boosters highchairs and disabilities
- Manage the wait list when restaurant is full
- Provide guest assistance to servers as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and complete assigned cleaning
- Fill out the feature board and inflate balloons
Job Qualifications
- Reading writing and verbal communication skills required
- Mobility required during the entire shift
- Ability to transport and carry objects weighing up to 15 pounds multiple times per shift
- Ability to clean tabletops table legs floors and booth seats
- Must be able to stand and move for periods up to four hours
- Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and employees
Job Duties
- Greet arriving and departing guests and seat them in a friendly manner
- Assist in maintaining the overall guest flow of the restaurant
- Accommodate special guest needs such as boosters, highchairs, and disabilities
- Manage the wait list when the restaurant is full
