Job Description
Atlas Restaurant Group is a prominent and rapidly growing restaurant company based in Baltimore, known for its commitment to exceptional dining experiences and community involvement. With a diverse portfolio of restaurant brands, Atlas Restaurant Group prides itself on delivering high-quality food, outstanding service, and a welcoming atmosphere to guests. The company fosters a culture that values teamwork, innovation, and personal growth, offering employees numerous opportunities for professional advancement within the vibrant hospitality industry. Working at Atlas means becoming part of a team that cares deeply about both its people and the communities it serves, consistently striving to exceed guest expectations while maintaining high standards of cleanliness, safety, and integrity.
The Host role at Atlas Restaurant Group is an essential frontline position that shapes guests’ first impressions and overall dining experience. As a Host, you will be the welcoming face of the restaurant, greeting guests warmly upon their arrival and setting a positive tone for their visit. Your responsibilities will include managing the waitlist efficiently, providing accurate information about wait times, and assisting with reservations. You will also demonstrate excellent communication skills by answering phone inquiries and handling to-go orders. The Host plays a critical role in maintaining a smooth flow and pace of service by directing guests to their tables and ensuring that servers share seating responsibilities in an even manner.
Beyond greeting guests, you will contribute to upholding the restaurant's standards by keeping the host stand clean and organized and ensuring that menus are meticulously maintained and ready for service. Regular cleaning duties, including periodic bathroom checks, are also part of your daily routine, highlighting your role in maintaining sanitation and cleanliness in compliance with health regulations.
The Host position requires patience, attention to detail, and the ability to work calmly under pressure in a fast-paced environment. You will need to be flexible with your scheduling, often working nights, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the restaurant. A basic understanding of food handling regulations may be required, depending on local laws, and familiarity with point-of-sale systems such as Toast POS, Restaurant365, and OpenTable will benefit your daily tasks.
This role does not include supervisory responsibilities but offers an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a dynamic hospitality setting and want to develop valuable customer service skills. Compensation varies by location, ranging from $13.00 to $25.00 per hour, reflecting regional market standards. Full-time employees working 30 or more hours each week are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, and vision insurance, 401k contributions, company-paid life and AD&D insurance, learning and development programs, advancement opportunities, pet insurance, and a 25% discount at Atlas properties. Part-time employees also have access to some benefits such as 401k contributions and company-paid life insurance.
Joining Atlas Restaurant Group means more than just a job; it is an opportunity to engage with a passionate team dedicated to hospitality excellence and community impact. You will have regular interaction with senior management and ownership, supporting your career growth and helping you establish a meaningful role within the company. If you have a friendly, attentive demeanor and a desire to contribute to a memorable guest experience, the Host position is a rewarding entry point into the restaurant industry with a forward-thinking and supportive employer.
