Job Description
Cracker Barrel is a beloved American restaurant and retail company known for its unique blend of Southern hospitality, traditional comfort food, and a charming country store atmosphere. Established in 1969, Cracker Barrel has grown into a nationally recognized brand with more than 70,000 team members across the United States. The company prides itself on creating a welcoming environment where guests feel at home, whether they're enjoying a hearty meal, browsing nostalgic retail items, or simply gathering with family and friends. With roots deeply embedded in community and culture, Cracker Barrel offers much more than just dining; it provides memorable moments and a sense of belonging to both guests and employees.
The role of Host at Cracker Barrel is vital in shaping the guest experience. As the first point of contact, Hosts greet every guest with warmth and friendliness, setting the tone for the entire visit. This position demands someone who excels in hospitality, is calm under pressure, and is committed to contributing to a team-oriented environment. Hosts at Cracker Barrel manage the flow of the dining room by maintaining and updating the waitlist, ensuring tables are prepared for the next set of guests, and making everyone feel comfortable and valued from the moment they walk in the door. Importantly, previous restaurant experience is not required, as Cracker Barrel provides comprehensive training to develop the necessary skills.
Working at Cracker Barrel includes numerous benefits designed to support employees' well-being and professional growth. Employees enjoy competitive weekly pay and have access to same-day pay. Health insurance benefits are available from the very first day for both full-time and part-time team members, alongside paid vacation time and an Employee Assistance Program supporting mental health and wellness. The company places strong emphasis on career development with access to industry-leading training programs and opportunities for advancement. Additional perks include a 401k plan with company matching, an Employee Stock Purchase Program, and a generous 35% discount on food and retail items. Cracker Barrel fosters a culture of belonging by offering onboarding, recognition programs, and employee events that bring the team together and celebrate shared successes.
Cracker Barrel is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion, ensuring a respectful and supportive workplace for all employees regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, genetic information, national origin, age, marital status, medical condition, disability, or any other protected class. Joining Cracker Barrel means becoming part of a company that values teamwork, respect, and creating moments that matter—for guests and employees alike.
