Located in Lindale, TX, the position of Hospitality Team Lead at Mercy Ships International Office presents a unique opportunity to impact the mission by ensuring exceptional hospitality and guest experiences. This full-time, on-site role is vital in creating a welcoming and organized environment that supports the overall mission of Mercy Ships. The team lead plays a critical role by managing various aspects of hospitality operations, including housing and guest services, reception, breakrooms, janitorial services, event coordination, and general maintenance. This role requires daily oversight and collaboration with maintenance team members and other hospitality staff at the International Support Center (ISC).

The Hospitality Team Lead acts as a steward of hospitality excellence, facilitating an environment where staff and guests feel valued, cared for, and supported. Responsibilities range from overseeing cleanliness and restocking accommodations, managing food and beverage inventories, supporting reception and visitor processing, to leading event setups and maintaining food safety protocols. The candidate will also be responsible for tracking and scheduling maintenance tasks, ensuring timely repairs, and conducting routine inspections to uphold high standards.

Ideal candidates possess a strong customer service mindset complemented by a professional demeanor and the ability to interact effectively with all organizational levels, including senior management. They have a solid grasp of business and management principles within a hospitality context, demonstrated organizational skills, and the physical stamina to perform demanding tasks such as standing or walking for extended periods and lifting up to 25 pounds. Job Duties

  • approach all encounters with guests and employees in a welcoming manner
  • thoroughly clean and restock accommodations ensuring high standards of cleanliness and readiness
  • launder bedding/towels/linens
  • monitor food and beverage inventories in accommodations ensuring timely communication of orders to sous chef
  • schedule and deliver supplies and groceries to guest accommodations
  • support reception and visitor processing to ensure a seamless and welcoming experience
  • follow visitor safety procedures by logging campus guests and providing visitor badges as required
  • clean and restock conference rooms
  • monitor inventories of breakroom supplies place orders and schedule stocking to maintain adequate provisions
  • conduct regular inspections of office spaces and communal areas to ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are upheld
  • under the direction of the isc hospitality manager lead the team in event setups executions and teardowns
  • barista services take orders accurately prepare specialty drinks and food items
  • assist kitchen staff with serving food and in dish room
  • follow food safety protocols through maintaining temperature logs waste logs and sanitation
  • track schedule and oversee general maintenance and repair tasks ensuring timely resolution of issues
  • ensure staff adheres to daily schedule and assignments
  • conduct routine inspections and task completion with standards of excellence
  • provide mentoring to promote best practices when needed
  • perform additional duties as assigned to support the hospitality team and overall operations
