Job Description
J&E Concessions, operating in conjunction with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, is committed to delivering outstanding guest experiences during baseball games and special events. The IronPigs are a Minor League Baseball team based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, known for their vibrant community presence, family-friendly environment, and engaging entertainment at Coca-Cola Park. As a key part of the IronPigs' hospitality team, J&E Concessions plays a crucial role in enhancing the game-day experience through excellent food and beverage service. This partnership focuses on providing timely, attentive, and courteous service to all guests to ensure each visit is memorable and enjoyable.
The Hospitality Runner position is a seasonal, part-time role designed to support the food and beverage operations within the ballpark. The position offers an hourly wage of $13 and requires reliable, motivated individuals who take pride in delivering excellent customer service. As a Hospitality Runner, you will be responsible for transporting food and beverages from the kitchen or concession stand to various hospitality areas across the venue. This role demands stamina, as it involves standing and walking for extended periods, sometimes up to eight hours, during events.
In addition to delivering orders, the Hospitality Runner ensures that all hospitality zones are fully stocked before and during games or events, contributing to smooth service flow. You'll communicate effectively with kitchen staff about inventory levels and food quality, ensuring that guests receive fresh and well-prepared items. Maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of service areas is critical, as it impacts the overall guest impression and safety standards.
A strong understanding of the menu and available offerings is essential, as it enables the Hospitality Runner to answer basic questions and support a high level of customer satisfaction. Anticipating guest needs and proactively addressing any service issues are vital aspects of the role. After events, you will assist in breaking down service areas, cleaning equipment, and managing the inventory of supplies.
The role also emphasizes teamwork and a positive attitude towards guests, co-workers, and management, fostering a supportive and enjoyable work environment. Professionalism is expected through appropriate uniform adherence, which includes an IronPigs black polo shirt (provided), black pants, and close-toed comfortable shoes, with non-skid footwear highly recommended.
Overall, this position is ideal for individuals looking to gain experience in the hospitality industry in a fun, fast-paced setting. It is also suitable for those who enjoy interaction with the public and want to be part of a lively sporting event environment. The seasonal nature offers flexibility, with schedules that accommodate evening and weekend work. Previous experience in a similar role, such as server or runner, is preferred but not mandatory, as training is provided. Join the IronPigs hospitality team and contribute to creating exceptional memories for all attendees at Coca-Cola Park.
