Job Description

J&E Concessions, in partnership with the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, offers a dynamic and engaging work environment in the realm of sports and hospitality. The Lehigh Valley IronPigs, a minor league baseball team based in Allentown, Pennsylvania, are recognized for their commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences at every game and event. As a team dedicated to community entertainment and memorable outings, the IronPigs provide a unique atmosphere where hospitality staff play a crucial role in enhancing the fan experience. J&E Concessions supports this goal by managing food and beverage services, ensuring guests enjoy seamless service alongside the thrills of baseball.

The Hospitality Runner position is a key role within the ballpark’s food and beverage team. This part-time seasonal role is centered around supporting the hospitality areas by stocking food, beverages, and related products to meet guest demand during events. Working as a Hospitality Runner requires excellent customer service skills, the ability to communicate effectively with kitchen staff, and maintaining cleanliness and order in service areas. This role is ideal for individuals who thrive in fast-paced, guest-oriented environments and who enjoy being part of a team dedicated to providing an elevated level of service.

Employees in this role can expect to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, which coincide with the baseball season schedule. The position pays $13 per hour and offers an opportunity to gain experience in hospitality within a live event setting, with potential for cross-training across various food and beverage locations in the ballpark. Responsibilities include ensuring hospitality areas are well-stocked, communicating timely with kitchen staff about inventory and food quality, maintaining cleanliness, and anticipating guest needs to deliver outstanding customer service.

This role demands physical stamina, as employees must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours) and occasionally lift items weighing up to 25 pounds. Team members wear a uniform consisting of a black IronPigs polo shirt provided by the employer, paired with black pants and close-toed, non-skid shoes as required attire. Hospitality Runners contribute significantly to the smooth operation of food service areas and help create an enjoyable experience that keeps guests coming back.

Joining J&E Concessions and the Lehigh Valley IronPigs as a Hospitality Runner offers more than just a job; it provides an opportunity to work in an energetic, community-focused sports environment where every day brings new challenges and opportunities to enhance fan engagement. The role is perfect for those who value teamwork, excellent communication, and delivering quality service in a lively setting. Hospitality Runners gain valuable skills in customer service, inventory management, and event support that can serve as a solid foundation for future careers in hospitality and service industries.
