Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Five years of food and beverage management experience preferred
  • Ability to obtain ServSafe certification within 6 months if not already certified
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent customer service and hospitality skills
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and workplace safety standards
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and POS systems
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written
  • Ability to multitask and manage problems effectively
  • Flexibility to work various meal periods, weekends, and holidays
  • Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
  • Comfortable working in senior living environment and engaging with elderly residents

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree in hospitality management, food service, or related field preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • ServSafe certification preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months
  • Five years of food and beverage management experience preferably in senior living, hospitality, or healthcare
  • Experience in private club, fine dining, or hospitality-driven environment preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities
  • Exceptional customer service and hospitality skills with passion for serving seniors
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations, sanitation standards, and workplace safety
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and POS systems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to multitask and solve problems proactively in fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work breakfast, lunch, dinner periods, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Ensure high-quality resident experiences through personalized culinary concierge leadership
  • Oversee day-to-day dining room and culinary service operations, ensuring hospitality, cleanliness, and efficiency
  • Maintain visible presence during peak mealtimes to supervise service and engage with residents
  • Train front of house team to deliver exceptional hospitality with a spirit of ownership
  • Ensure dining areas are properly set up before meals including table settings and special requests
  • Uphold hospitality and customer service standards ensuring courteous and timely service
  • Address resident feedback and special requests to enhance the dining experience
  • Manage special events, holiday meals, catering, and private dining in collaboration with Executive Chef
  • Recruit, hire, train, and schedule dining room staff ensuring smooth operations
  • Provide ongoing training in customer service, food safety, sanitation, and procedures
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations offering coaching, feedback, and recognition
  • Handle staffing issues including performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
  • Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards promoting teamwork and professionalism
  • Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations
  • Ensure dining and food service areas exceed sanitation and safety standards
  • Collaborate with Executive Chef and Nutrition Services on proper food handling and allergen management
  • Oversee temperature checks, food labeling, and cleanliness inspections
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs of dining room equipment and furnishings
  • Maintain inventory levels for dining supplies including food, beverages, and disposables
  • Monitor budget and expenses ensuring cost-effective resource utilization
  • Oversee ordering, receiving, and stock rotation to minimize waste
  • Prepare end-of-month inventory reports and track trends for menu planning
  • Collaborate on menu planning with Executive Chef and Nutrition Services Director
  • Ensure menu options are nutritious, visually appealing, and meet dietary needs
  • Communicate menu changes, daily specials, and service updates to staff and residents
  • Organize resident dining committee meetings to gather feedback
  • Analyze business volume forecasts to adjust staffing and operations
  • Ensure POS system accuracy tracking sales and resident charges
  • Work with administration on billing and financial reconciliation
  • Contribute to marketing efforts for special dining events and new menus
