The role of the Manager within Trinchero Family Estates is a pivotal position based onsite in Napa, California. This full-time exempt role is centered around managing and elevating the guest experiences offered at the company's Visitor Center and tasting rooms. The Manager will be responsible for driving team engagement and excellence in hospitality by leading a team of hospitality staff, ensuring that every guest interaction embodies the brand's storytelling and wine expertise. Another core responsibility includes contributing strategically to business growth by supporting the brand strategy and achieving annual sales and profit goals. Operational management is also a significant aspect of the role, focusing on maintaining profitability while delivering high-quality experiences for consumers, club members, and trade partners. The Manager will oversee personnel management, business and experience management, operational oversight, and leadership development.

This role demands visionary leadership, including hiring and training staff, managing payroll and commissions, and continuously improving the team’s skills and motivation. The Manager will conduct performance evaluations and ensure effective communication about safety, sales goals, and marketing promotions. On the business side, the Manager holds ownership of delivering the annual sales plan and profit and loss targets, reviewing business performance regularly, and innovating for future growth. On the operational front, the role requires managing safety policies, daily business functions like opening and closing procedures, overseeing the POS system and inventory, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Event planning and execution are also included, with attention to detail in coordinating all aspects such as wine selections, food pairings, entertainment, and budgets.

Trinchero Family Estates requires a leader who can foster a results-driven culture aligned with the company values. The Manager will set clear expectations, provide mentoring and coaching to team members, support their development, and act as a role model. This role also entails physically demanding tasks such as lifting wine cases and working irregular hours including weekends and holidays during peak seasons. A competitive salary range from $95,000 to $120,000 is offered, reflecting experience, education, and geographic factors. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, tourism, recreation or related field
  • 8-10 years tasting room management experience including inventory and people management
  • excellent hospitality, sales and communication skills
  • strong business acumen and P&L management experience
  • must be highly organized and able to multitask
  • leadership experience managing large teams
  • basic to advanced knowledge of wine and passion for wine
  • analytical and problem-solving skills
  • bilingual English-other language a plus
  • proficient in MS Office programs
  • working Saturdays and Sundays required
  • availability to work some evenings for events
  • ability to stand for long periods
  • ability to lift at least 45 pounds
  • ability to perform moderate to heavy physical work
  • ability to work irregular hours during peak seasons
  • willingness to work on holidays and weekends
  • experience with restaurant reservation and table management a plus.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, tourism, recreation or related field
  • 8-10 years tasting room management experience including inventory and people management
  • excellent hospitality, sales and communication skills
  • strong business acumen and P&L management experience
  • ability to conduct financial analysis and track KPIs
  • highly organized and able to multitask
  • leadership experience managing teams of 15 or more
  • passion for wine with knowledge of viticulture and winemaking
  • analytical and problem-solving skills
  • bilingual skills a plus
  • proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • restaurant reservation and table management experience a plus
  • availability to work weekends and some evenings for events
  • MBA preferred.

Job Duties

  • Visionary leadership and management of hospitality staff and guest experience
  • staff hiring, orientation, onboarding and management of ongoing training curriculum
  • manage annual training programming to deliver best in class consumer and trade experiences
  • oversee organization structure and delegation of duties
  • conduct ongoing performance discussions and evaluations based on hospitality, brand storytelling, wine knowledge, sales productivity and teamwork
  • calculate payroll and commissions for employees
  • assess incentive programs for direct sales team
  • communicate daily on safety, sales goals, pricing, product releases and promotions
  • deliver annual sales plan and profit and loss targets
  • lead activities related to Visitor Center and consumer business priorities
  • conduct business and financial performance reviews
  • train staff as brand and wine experts
  • enforce safety and sustainability policies
  • manage daily operations including opening and closing procedures
  • support marketing plans to increase visitors and sales
  • maintain POS system accuracy and inventory control
  • ensure compliance with permits and health codes
  • assist in tasting room operations and customer service
  • monitor and respond to customer feedback and social media reviews
  • plan and execute trade and consumer events including coordination of wine, food, entertainment and budgets
  • provide leadership and performance management
  • support staff development through coaching and mentoring
  • foster a results driven environment and embody company values
  • create a stimulating and rewarding work environment.
