The Hospital Valet Parking Attendant position at Ellis Parking is a full-time/part-time role based in the Grand Rapids, MI area, primarily covering the 1st shift from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This role serves as the initial point of contact for patients, visitors, and hospital staff, making it crucial in shaping first impressions and providing a welcoming atmosphere. The attendant's duties include greeting and assisting guests, proficiently parking and retrieving vehicles, maintaining an orderly and safe valet area, and collaborating with hospital personnel to support the visitor experience. Attention to detail and safety are paramount as the role entails monitoring vehicle security, handling keys meticulously, performing routine inspections, and adhering strictly to hospital policies. The position demands excellent interpersonal skills, physical stamina for standing and walking extended periods, and the ability to manage fast-paced, sometimes stressful scenarios with tact and professionalism.

  • valid driver’s license with 2 points or less on driving record
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • ability to handle physical tasks associated with valet parking

  • previous experience in a customer service role
  • valid driver’s license with 2 points or less on driving record
  • ability to operate various types of vehicles including manual transmission is a plus

  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform physical tasks associated with valet parking

Job Duties

  • greet and assist patients and visitors as they arrive at the hospital
  • provide valet parking services including parking and retrieving vehicles in a timely manner
  • maintain a clean and organized valet area to ensure efficient workflow
  • monitor traffic flow within the valet area and direct vehicles accordingly
  • assist guests with walkers and special requests
  • ensure safety and security of all parked vehicles including routine inspections
  • maintain accurate records of vehicle keys and parking transactions
  • adhere to hospital policies and procedures related to safety and security
  • respond to inquiries from patients and visitors regarding hospital services and directions
  • work collaboratively with hospital departments and staff to enhance visitor experience
  • report incidents, accidents, or irregularities to the Parking Services Manager promptly
