Xanitos is currently hiring full-time Environmental Service Hospital Housekeepers for 1st shift positions at Dupont Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana. This role is vital in maintaining the cleanliness and sanitary conditions of various hospital environments, contributing directly to patient safety and overall facility excellence. The position offers competitive hourly compensation at $16.00 and includes a $500 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates, reflecting the company’s commitment to attracting skilled professionals. Shift hours run from 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, with rotational weekends required.

The Environmental Service Hospital Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining orderly conditions in hospital locations, which may include patient rooms, hallways, lobbies, restrooms, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other high-traffic work areas within a healthcare campus. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, as the housekeeper is tasked with sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, polishing, washing walls and fixtures, and managing waste disposal. Additionally, the position involves replenishing bathroom supplies and assisting with the transport of small equipment or tools between departments. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
  • Experience in janitorial industry preferred
  • Medical cleaning experience preferred
  • Must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 unless exempt for medical or religious reasons
  • Successful completion of medical exam, background check, and drug test
  • Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus with or without corrective lenses

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent
  • Experience in the janitorial industry a plus

Job Duties

  • Clean and polish lighting fixtures, marble surfaces, and trim
  • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas
  • Sweep and/or vacuum floors
  • Dust furniture and equipment
  • Polish metalwork
  • Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels, and sills
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to disposal areas
  • Replenish bathroom supplies
