The facility is designed to combine cutting-edge medical technology with a compassionate, patient-centered approach, supporting South Florida's growing and diverse community. This hospital reflects a culture of excellence, innovation, and collaboration, fostering an environment where medical professionals can thrive both personally and professionally. The center emphasizes leadership and professional development, encouraging continuous learning and the advancement of skills across all departments. Palm Beach Gardens itself provides a thriving, vibrant community that enhances the quality of life for its residents through abundant lifestyle amenities that promote wellness, recreation, and a balanced work-life dynamic. For healthcare professionals, this establishes an ideal setting that harmonizes career growth with personal well-being and community engagement.
The Anatomic and Clinical Pathologist role at Alan B. Miller Medical Center is designed as a full-time position, ideal for candidates seeking to contribute to a hospital-based practice within a collaborative and technologically advanced environment. The pathologist will be integrating into a highly experienced care team, offering the ability to focus on comprehensive pathology work, including the examination and evaluation of a variety of surgical and cytology specimens. The role involves managing a daily caseload of approximately 30 to 35 mixed specimens with a significant degree of independence while benefiting from the support of a certified Pathologist Assistant who assists with specimen grossing.
This position offers a shared on-call schedule, balancing duties and providing ample time for rest and personal life, including five weeks of annual vacation. The pathologist will play a crucial role in supporting multidisciplinary teams and collaborating closely with laboratory staff and referring physicians to ensure the highest standards of diagnostic accuracy and patient care. Responsibilities include performing frozen sections, assessing specimen adequacy for cytology, and managing diverse cases that span breast core biopsies, thoracic pathology, gynecological specimens, genitourinary, gastrointestinal, neurological samples, and limited hematopathology, as well as thyroid and lung cytology.
Participation in specialized tumor boards, particularly breast and lung boards held three times a month, is a valuable component of the position, fostering clinical collaboration and advancing diagnostic precision. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential, as the pathologist will be embedded in a multidisciplinary team environment to support comprehensive patient treatment plans. The role explicitly excludes autopsy responsibilities, allowing the focus to remain on diagnostic and clinical pathology. This opportunity represents more than just a job; it is a chance to grow professionally in a setting that values continuous learning and advanced diagnostic work within a supportive and innovative culture.
