Hope's Harbor is a compassionate community-focused nonprofit organization dedicated to providing safety, support, and hope to individuals and families in need. Established with the mission to create a nurturing environment for people facing difficult circumstances, Hope's Harbor offers a variety of critical services including shelter, counseling, and essential resources to empower guests toward stability and self-sufficiency. The organization operates multiple campus houses including the Lutheran Campus House and the Dupont Campus House, each designed to accommodate the unique needs of their guests. Volunteers have the chance to contribute in numerous ways, one of the most fulfilling being the preparation and provision of home-cooked meals for the guests, enhancing their experience with comfort and care.

The role of a meal provider volunteer at Hope’s Harbor involves organizing and delivering nutritious home-cooked meals that bring warmth and comfort to the guests. Volunteers can gather their families, friends, coworkers, committee members, teams, troops, clubs, church groups, or other social circles to contribute. This communal approach not only fosters collaboration and enjoyment among participants but also ensures a steady supply of meals for guests. The organization encourages meals to be prepared in commercial kitchens, whether it is their own gourmet kitchen, a local catering restaurant, or meals prepackaged from a grocery store, provided all food safety standards are met. The Lutheran Campus House requires meals designed to serve 12 to 15 people, whereas the Dupont Campus House is set for smaller groups, catering to 8 to 10 guests.
