Job Requirements

  • Completion of a formal certification training program or skills test and competency evaluation
  • Minimum age of eighteen years
  • At least six months’ relevant work experience
  • Ability to read and follow care plans
  • Good communication skills
  • Driver’s license and insured vehicle
  • Reliable transportation
  • Physical capability to perform lifting and patient assistance
  • Adherence to infection control protocols
  • Commitment to ongoing training and skill validation

Job Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a formal certification training program and/or a written skills test and competency evaluation
  • Be at least eighteen (18) years of age
  • Minimum of six (6) months’ work experience in home or facility care
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, and follow a written Plan of Care
  • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable means of transportation to/from all assignments
  • Vehicle insured and valid driver’s license required

Job Duties

  • Performs personal care activities including bathing, shampooing, skin care and nail care, oral hygiene, shaving, dressing
  • Performs household services essential to health care at home including meal preparation and feeding, laundry, light housekeeping
  • Assists with medications by reminders and/or supervision under RN direction
  • Performs simple therapy procedures such as range of motion exercises and ambulation assistance under therapist supervision
  • Reports changes in client’s condition to Registered Nurse or Therapist and follows reporting guidelines
  • Documents care provided and completes required client records and reports
  • Promotes personal safety by following infection control practices and agency guidelines
  • Communicates effectively with interdisciplinary team members and maintains confidentiality
