Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- previous cooking experience preferred but not required
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- availability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
- physical ability to stand, walk, reach, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 pounds
- basic math and reading skills
- food safety certification or willingness to obtain
- strong teamwork orientation
- attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high quality standards
Job Qualifications
- Able to work flexible shift schedule including nights, weekends, and/or holidays
- able to physically stand and walk 100 percent of shift
- able to reach, bend, and stoop
- ability to speak, read and write English
- able to read recipes and food labels
- able to read POS ticket orders
- communicates ticket times, executes food flow from kitchen to guests, and reports potential issues to manager on duty
- able to safely use kitchen machinery such as open flame grill, stove, slicer
- work safely with hot plates, pots, and pans
- work safely with sharp knives and utensils
- able to lift up to 50 lbs several times per shift and lift these heavy loads to high shelves, coolers, freezers
- ability to hold items weighing up to 5 lbs for long periods
- work in high temperature, damp environment indoors and minimally outdoors
- assist fellow employees with dishwashing and cleaning as needed
- complete and pass food safety certification program in compliance with Flanigan's and Florida statutes
Job Duties
- Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedural training
- prepare menu items according to Flanigan's company recipe manual and plate presentation
- ensure rotation of all products and stock products to par level to ensure kitchen is not disrupted
- help complete assigned prep work to stock and set up stations as necessary
- transport items to and from kitchen and help vendor unload delivery trucks
- clean and maintain kitchen area throughout shift
- break down and clean all stations at closing
