Job Description
Marriott International is a globally recognized leader in the hospitality industry, known for its commitment to excellence, innovation, and creating memorable experiences for guests around the world. The company operates a diverse portfolio of brands that span luxury, premium, and select service hotels, catering to a wide range of travelers. One of its esteemed luxury brands, JW Marriott, embodies a rich legacy of hospitality inspired by the company founder, J. Willard Marriott. JW Marriott hotels prioritize the well-being and development of their associates, fostering a supportive and inclusive workplace culture that promotes personal growth and career advancement. With over 100 properties in gateway cities and distinct resort locations, JW Marriott provides luxury experiences that are both genuine and innovative, making it a rewarding place to build a career.
The role available at the Marriott Irvine Spectrum in Irvine, California, is a full-time management position in the Food and Beverage (F&B) sector. The job offers an annual pay range of $84,000 to $111,000 and includes bonus eligibility, which reflects Marriott's commitment to rewarding performance and fostering employee engagement. This role is not remote and is based directly at the Irvine Spectrum location, providing an immersive hospitality environment and opportunities to lead within a dynamic F&B outlet.
As a Food and Beverage Manager, you will spearhead the operational leadership of F&B outlets, encompassing everything from outlet marketing and food and wine promotions to customer service excellence and detailed inventory management. You will assist in menu and recipe development, ensuring that the food and beverage offerings align with the high standards expected at Marriott properties. Additionally, you will develop beverage programs within the confines of the company’s national agreements, maintaining consistent quality and compliance.
Your strategic role includes budget administration, financial forecasting, profit and loss accountability, and cost control. These are critical to ensuring the financial health of the F&B outlets you manage. You will also be responsible for maintaining established policies and procedures and ensuring all operations comply with health and safety standards such as Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP), Occupational Safety and Health Association (OSHA) regulations, and regional Alcoholic Beverage Commissions guidelines.
Staff management and development form a significant part of your duties. You will lead service and management teams, driving high performance through coaching, training, and appraisals. You will also ensure effective communication within the F&B department and collaborate with supporting departments to provide a seamless guest experience. Your leadership will empower employees to exceed guest expectations through excellent service, fostering customer satisfaction and retention.
The position requires a hands-on approach to both operational and human resource functions, including interviewing, selecting, training employees, conducting performance appraisals, and monitoring attendance. Ensuring a safe and secure working environment for staff and guests is a top priority. Your role also involves innovation and creativity to implement initiatives that enhance guest experiences and elevate the outlet's reputation.
By joining Marriott Hotels and the JW Marriott brand, you become part of a global team that is dedicated to the art of hospitality. Marriott’s culture of diversity, inclusivity, and equal opportunity supports associates of all backgrounds. You will be encouraged to be your best self, pursue your passions, and grow within an environment that values holistic well-being and continuous learning. This is an exceptional opportunity to advance your career in food and beverage management, contributing to a luxury environment recognized worldwide for its service excellence and innovative hospitality practices.
