Job Requirements
- Maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- be under 70 years of age
- 2000 total flight hours with minimum 1500 in category
- 1000 hours PIC in category
- 500 hours rotor wing turbine
- 200 hours cross-country flight time with 50 at night
- 100 hours unaided night as PIC or 50 hours unaided plus 100 hours NVG
- 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in category
- regular scheduled attendance on a 7/7 schedule with 12-hour shifts
- strict adherence to FAR, AIM, GOM, and company policies
Job Qualifications
- Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
- two to five years' related experience and/or training
- bachelor's degree preferred
- familiarity with aircraft and medical systems
- proven ability to follow Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies
- strong interpersonal skills with EMS representatives, hospitals, and public
- recent flight experience within category
- FAA instrument rating
- fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
- commercial single-engine land rating for single-engine aircraft
- first or second class FAA medical certificate
Job Duties
- Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
- complete pre-flight inspections verifying aircraft airworthiness
- maintain final authority over aircraft operations and passenger safety
- familiarize with all aircraft and medical systems including backups
- complete required documentation accurately
- conduct detailed flight planning on short notice
- participate in company meetings and community outreach
- perform other assigned duties
