Job Requirements

  • Maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
  • be under 70 years of age
  • 2000 total flight hours with minimum 1500 in category
  • 1000 hours PIC in category
  • 500 hours rotor wing turbine
  • 200 hours cross-country flight time with 50 at night
  • 100 hours unaided night as PIC or 50 hours unaided plus 100 hours NVG
  • 50 hours actual or hood instrument time in category
  • regular scheduled attendance on a 7/7 schedule with 12-hour shifts
  • strict adherence to FAR, AIM, GOM, and company policies

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school
  • two to five years' related experience and/or training
  • bachelor's degree preferred
  • familiarity with aircraft and medical systems
  • proven ability to follow Federal Aviation Regulations and company policies
  • strong interpersonal skills with EMS representatives, hospitals, and public
  • recent flight experience within category
  • FAA instrument rating
  • fixed wing multiengine rating for twin-engine aircraft
  • commercial single-engine land rating for single-engine aircraft
  • first or second class FAA medical certificate

Job Duties

  • Operate Air Methods aircraft in a safe and legal manner
  • complete pre-flight inspections verifying aircraft airworthiness
  • maintain final authority over aircraft operations and passenger safety
  • familiarize with all aircraft and medical systems including backups
  • complete required documentation accurately
  • conduct detailed flight planning on short notice
  • participate in company meetings and community outreach
  • perform other assigned duties
