Job Requirements
- maintain weight not to exceed 250 pounds
- be less than 70 years old
- regular scheduled attendance
- follow Air Methods' employment practices and policies
- ability to perform essential job functions
- subject to drug and/or alcohol testing per DOT/FAA requirements
- able to safely operate medical transport aircraft under visual flight rules
- complete pre-flight inspections and flight planning
- demonstrate adherence to safety regulations
- maintain valid FAA certifications and medical clearance
- participate in company meetings and training
- no supervisory responsibilities
Job Qualifications
- associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school and 2-5 years related experience or training
- bachelor's degree preferred
- maintenance of positive interpersonal relationships with colleagues, EMS representatives, hospitals and the public
- familiarity with Federal Aviation Regulations and Aeronautical Information Manual
- pilots must have flown in category for commercial operator or military within previous 24 months
- meet flight hour minimums including 2000 total flight hours, 1500 in category, 1000 PIC in category, 500 rotor wing turbine time
- possess commercial and instrument ratings for category and class
- hold ATP rating in category
- maintain first or second class FAA medical certificate
Job Duties
- Operate Air Methods aircraft safely and legally
- complete pre-flight inspections verifying airworthiness
- perform walk-around inspections before and after flights
- ensure safety of passengers, cargo, and equipment
- maintain thorough knowledge of aircraft and medical systems
- complete required flight documentation
- conduct detailed flight planning often on short notice
- participate in company meetings and community outreach
- perform other duties as assigned
