Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- at least 2 years of experience as heavy maintenance check coordinator or equivalent
- ability to read, analyze and interpret technical materials
- ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
- capable of decision making regarding resource use
- able to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear frequently
- able to work in open air hangar conditions occasionally
- willingness to work on call 24/7
- able to travel up to 30 percent including overnight
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- minimum of 2 years experience in heavy maintenance check coordination or material planning
- ability to read and interpret technical manuals and regulations
- effective communication skills for vendors and management
- problem-solving ability with limited standardization
- sound decision-making skills regarding resource use
- familiarity with aviation or supply chain concepts preferred
- bachelor’s degree in aviation, supply chain, or related field is advantageous
- airline experience is preferred
Job Duties
- Leads a team of Material Coordinators in supporting heavy maintenance events
- ensures required materials and services are obtained and delivered on schedule and at lowest total cost
- communicates with MRO and on site representatives regarding material requests and delivery dates
- attends pre-planning meetings with maintenance strategic planning team
- ensures supply chain organization executes requirements including material planning, purchasing, repair and warranty, and material services
- confirms stock accuracy and manages core returns
- works to improve processes across heavy maintenance value stream
- monitors and validates material requests based on technical documentation
- coordinates with MRO provider to manage supply sources and contractual terms
- collaborates with maintenance to improve operations including cost and efficiency
- monitors service levels and operational performance metrics
- evaluates and establishes processes to enhance operation
- receives material into computer systems and monitors inventory accuracy
- ensures return and repair of unserviceable inventory
- fosters company core values and culture
- provides technical leadership, trains others, and contributes to operational efficiency opportunities
- performs other duties as assigned
