Job Duties
- Diagnoses and repairs vehicles and equipment with supervision as needed
- Performs inspections, preventive maintenance of vehicles and equipment, and minor component replacement as applicable
- Prepares and maintains records and reports accurately
- Dismantles and reassembles heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools
- Operates and inspects machines or heavy equipment to diagnose defects
- Tests mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance and compliance with manufacturers' specifications
- Cleans, lubricates, and performs other routine maintenance work on equipment, vehicles, components, systems, and equipment of the plant
- Reads and understands operating manuals, blueprints, and technical drawings
- Tests machines or equipment to ensure operating efficiency
- Fits bearings to adjust or repair mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment
- Diagnoses faults or malfunctions using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices
- Examines parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges
- Repairs and replaces damaged or worn parts
- Performs other duties as assigned
