Job Requirements

  • Minimum 4 years of dirt operating equipment experience
  • NCCER certification for skid steer, dozer, and backhoe
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to operate various powered construction equipment
  • Ability to follow safety guidelines
  • Willingness to work 5x10 schedule
  • Ability to perform physical labor and operate heavy machinery safely

Job Qualifications

  • NCCER skid steer certified
  • NCCER dozer certified
  • NCCER backhoe certified
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Minimum 4 years of experience operating heavy dirt equipment
  • Ability to operate electric, diesel, gasoline, or steam powered construction equipment
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and communicate effectively
  • No minimum educational requirement

Job Duties

  • Pushes and pulls levers and depresses pedals to raise, lower, and rotate boom and to raise and lower load line or to raise and lower blade or bucket
  • Raises, lowers blade or bucket, and rotates boom or load by sight or according to signals from helper
  • Inspects equipment for defective parts and notifies supervisor of defects or malfunctions
  • Starts engines, moves throttles, switches, and levers, and depresses pedals to operate machines
  • Signals truck driver to position truck to facilitate loading of dirt, rocks, and other materials
  • Takes actions to avoid potential hazards and obstructions such as utility lines, other equipment, other workers, and falling objects
  • Cleans, maintains, and lubricates equipment
  • Performs other duties as assigned
