The role of Food Service Supervisor at EdenHill is vital in ensuring residents receive nutritious, safe, and appealing meals through effective leadership and management of the food service operations. This position requires supervising the tray line with a focus on accuracy, proper plate presentation, food safety, and hygiene standards. The supervisor will monitor scheduling to ensure shifts are adequately covered in the absence of the Food Service Director and Assistant Director and report any concerns promptly. The role includes conducting daily inspections of dining and kitchen areas to maintain high safety and sanitation standards and estimating food consumption to manage inventory effectively. Responsibilities extend to receiving food deliveries, checking quality and quantity against established standards, and supervising kitchen staff preparing various food items including meats, sauces, vegetables, and soups. Planning efficient cooking schedules to have meals ready on time without compromising quality is key to success in this role.

Additionally, the Food Service Supervisor is involved in preparing food by cooking according to provided recipes, handling meat cutting and portioning, and ensuring proper food presentation on steam tables. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum one year of preferred experience in food service related roles including baking line or prep cooking and healthcare cooking
  • Ability to work in person at the specified location
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Capability to supervise food service staff
  • Effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • One year of preferred experience in baking food service line cook prep cook bistro or healthcare cook
  • Strong communication skills

Job Duties

  • Supervise the tray line ensuring accuracy of resident trays plate presentation food safety and sanitation
  • Monitor the schedule ensuring proper coverage for each shift in the absence of the Food Service Director and Assistant Food Service Director and report any problems that need to be addressed
  • Perform daily inspection in the dining areas and kitchen for safety and sanitation
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase foodstuffs
  • Receive and examine foodstuffs and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet standards
  • Supervise personnel engaged in preparing cooking and serving meats sauces vegetables soups and other foods
  • Plan cooking schedules to have food ready on time but not too far in advance
