Job Requirements
- 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in healthcare safety, occupational health, risk management, or environmental health and safety (EHS)
- associate's or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health, Environmental Safety, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field
- certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Healthcare Safety Professional (CHSP), or similar credential preferred
- demonstrated experience in conducting incident investigations, managing workers' compensation cases, and coordinating with insurance carriers or TPAs
- in-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, CDC guidelines, CMS requirements, and other relevant healthcare safety standards
- strong ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence safety practices in clinical and non-clinical environments
- excellent written and verbal communication skills
- proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and incident tracking/reporting software
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive healthcare safety program focused on regulatory compliance, employee safety, and continuous improvement
- monitor and enforce adherence to OSHA, CDC, CMS, Joint Commission, Title 22, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and other applicable standards
- serve as the organization's subject matter expert on workplace safety, health protocols, and risk mitigation strategies
- lead and document investigations of employee injuries, workplace incidents, and near misses
- identify root causes and recommend/implement corrective actions
- coordinate workers' compensation processes including initial injury reporting, claim follow-up, return-to-work programs, and coordination with insurance carriers and TPAs
- conduct regular safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments to proactively identify and address hazards
- support infection prevention efforts and collaborate on outbreak response and PPE strategies with clinical and environmental services teams
- assist with the planning, training, and evaluation of emergency preparedness initiatives (e.g., fire, earthquake, active shooter, pandemic response)
- deliver and/or coordinate safety training sessions and onboarding topics including bloodborne pathogens, ergonomics, HAZCOM, fire safety, staff fall prevention, workplace violence prevention, and injury prevention
- assist in the maintenance, support, and update of the Safety Data Sheets (SDS), emergency communication systems, and facility safety plans
- ensure accurate documentation and recordkeeping for incidents, training, inspections, corrective actions, and compliance reporting
- serve as the liaison and primary contact for safety-related inspections by Cal/OSHA, Department of Public Health, and other regulatory agencies
- collaborate with leadership on safety performance metrics, trend analysis, and dashboard reporting for organizational oversight
- participate in the Safety Committee, Emergency Management Committee, and other relevant safety and quality improvement efforts
