The Healthcare Host/Hostess position at Sodexo, located at Lehigh Valley Hospital - Cedar Crest, offers both full-time and part-time employment opportunities with a competitive pay rate of $18.00 per hour. This position involves a variety of responsibilities including communicating effectively with hospital staff and patients to manage meal tray distribution, recording special dietary food requirements, delivering meal carts to patient units, and assisting with bedside meal setup. The role also entails maintaining cleanliness by discarding soiled trays, taking inventory of nourishment areas, stocking supplies, and operating kitchen equipment accurately. Attendance and punctuality are essential, and candidates can expect to work morning shifts with varying days and rotating weekends.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 0 - 1 year of related experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients and staff
  • Reliable and punctual attendance
  • Ability to work mornings with varying days and rotating weekends
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as delivering meal carts and setting up meals
  • Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy work environment

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Effectively communicate with patients, staff and guests of the hospital to ensure accuracy and timelines of patient meal trays and floor stock
  • Record the amount and type of special food
  • Deliver meal carts to patient units
  • Aid in the meal set-up at bedside with direct patient contact
  • Discard soiled trays
  • Take inventory of nourishment areas, stock when necessary and accurately operate technical equipment
  • Attend work and show for scheduled shift on time with satisfactory regularity
  • Perform other duties as assigned according to business necessities and client requirements
