Job Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent required
  • One year customer service experience, preferably in a health care setting
  • Able to type 50 wpm
  • Computer experience required, Microsoft Office preferred

Job Duties

  • Welcome and assist all visitors when they arrive at the reception area Health Center or Agency
  • Optimize patients' satisfaction, provider time, and treatment room utilization by scheduling, rescheduling and confirming patient appointments
  • Maintain the Vision Store receptionist desk at all times while clinic is in progress
  • Maintain patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information
  • Work with Health Center staff to ensure the quality delivery of health-related services and help perform outreach and accommodation for walk-ins to Health Center
  • Assist with maintaining proper patient records, including scanning, cataloging and entering information into Health Center data bases
  • File, fax, copy, and organize documents as part of general office and reception duties
  • Verify patient appointments via phone two days before the appointment and update the patients' record on the status of the phone call
