Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- minimum of three years DOT fleet and/or general industry safety management experience
- thorough knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and requirements
- effective communication and team building skills
- proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word
- ability to manage multiple priorities and projects
- willingness to travel approximately three nights per week including some weekends, nights, and holidays
- ability to work at the specified location in Texas
- must complete Penske employment application, background investigation including past employment, education, and criminal history, and drug screening
- ability to lift or move up to 25lbs
- ability to read, communicate verbally and/or in written form, remember and analyze information, and follow instructions
- regular and reliable attendance required
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- three years of DOT fleet and/or general industry safety management experience
- comprehensive knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations and requirements
- comprehensive knowledge of basic safety management techniques
- effective communication skills both written and verbal
- strong team building skills
- ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, and accomplish goals and objectives
- proficiency with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word
- analytical and problem-solving skills
- regular, predictable, full attendance
- willingness to travel extensively
- flexibility regarding travel including weekends, nights, and holidays
Job Duties
- Collaborate with operations personnel to integrate health and safety into all activities and decision-making processes
- prevent vehicle accidents and work-related injuries
- ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and agency regulations
- manage warehousing and transportation safety operations
- monitor and analyze health and safety performance
- communicate safety performance status and recommendations to leadership
- monitor effectiveness of performance improvement efforts focusing on leading and trailing indicators
- provide regulatory interpretations and updates to support operations leadership
- oversee effective safety training programs
- execute special projects assigned by Director of Safety and Senior Operations Leadership
