Job Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of pastry techniques including laminated doughs desserts and viennoiserie
  • experience with recipe development and seasonal pastry offerings
  • strong organizational and communication skills
  • ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • ability to work early morning evening weekend or holiday shifts as required

Job Duties

  • Lead the pastry program including viennoiserie desserts and specialty pastry items
  • develop and refine recipes while maintaining consistent product quality and presentation
  • introduce seasonal pastry items that align with the bakery's concept and standards
  • guide and support pastry team members including pastry chefs pastry cooks and assistants
  • assist with hiring training and mentoring pastry staff
  • maintain a professional and collaborative work environment
  • coordinate pastry production to support daily bakery operations and special orders
  • monitor product quality and presentation during production
  • monitor ingredient usage and communicate ordering needs with leadership
  • support efforts to minimize waste and maintain efficient ingredient usage
  • follow health department regulations and food safety standards
  • maintain a clean and organized pastry production environment
