Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in architecture, design, construction management, or a related field, or equivalent education and hospitality industry experience
  • Over 10 years of progressive experience in architecture, design, construction, and renovations within the hospitality sector
  • 5-7 years of experience managing teams and leading complex hotel design, renovation, and construction projects
  • Proven ability to organize, plan, and execute large-scale projects from concept through implementation
  • Demonstrated success in leading, developing, and managing high-performing teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • In-depth knowledge of building codes, company license agreements, and related regulations

Job Duties

  • Create and implement departmental policies and procedures to support strategic objectives and ensure consistent design standards across all assigned brands
  • Lead the Property Improvement Plan and Plan Review processes, ensuring timely, cost-effective evaluations and consistent training for departmental competency
  • Guide design strategies for modernization programs, maintain awareness of industry trends, and support the development of innovative, competitive brand standards
  • Contribute to the creation and maintenance of brand standards, including architecture, engineering, ADA compliance, FF&E, signage, and safety protocols
  • Support the implementation and upkeep of prototype building designs and the Standardized Room Décor (SRD) program to ensure current and consistent design execution
  • Manage and develop the PIP and Plan Review teams through hiring, training, performance management, and fostering a positive, high-retention work environment
  • Lead budget planning, staffing, and special projects that drive innovation, assess competitive data, and support strategic initiatives across the hotel portfolio
