Job Requirements

  • Valid Food Handler Management license
  • Proven experience leading a high-volume kitchen as a Head Chef or similar role
  • Strong skills in kitchen management including inventory control and cost management
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities
  • Organized with effective delegation skills
  • Knowledgeable of current culinary trends and best practices
  • Proficient in MS Office, XtraChef, and Toasttab
  • Culinary degree or related certification preferred
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Willingness to work 40-50 hours per week depending on season

Job Qualifications

  • Strong kitchen management skills including inventory control, cost management, and staff supervision
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to delegate responsibilities and monitor progress
  • Up-to-date knowledge of culinary trends and best practices
  • Proficiency in MS Office, XtraChef, and Toasttab
  • Culinary degree or related certification preferred
  • Ability to pass a required background check

Job Duties

  • Cultivate a positive kitchen culture that fosters collaboration and respect among staff
  • Collaborate with the General Manager and owners to develop and innovate the restaurant menu
  • Oversee kitchen operations including food preparation, cooking, and plating ensuring quality and consistency
  • Monitor and manage labor costs to maintain target labor percentage
  • Utilize XtraChef for food cost tracking and maintain accurate inventory and invoice records
  • Plan and execute food and equipment ordering using a "Sheet to Shelf" system
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training programs with visual aids for kitchen staff
  • Ensure recipes are followed accurately and implement a "Prep by Priority" system
  • Coordinate maintenance and safety compliance including regular mock health inspections
  • Conduct pre-opening kitchen inspections and establish cleaning plans
  • Create weekly staff schedules considering sales and events
  • Monitor overtime and labor management
  • Perform monthly inventory audits and health inspections with staff training on sanitation procedures
