Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • prior leadership experience in culinary operations
  • current Certified Food Protection Manager credential (ServSafe or equivalent)
  • knowledge of special dietary needs and food allergy management
  • ability to supervise and train kitchen staff
  • compliance with health and safety regulations
  • effective communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Prior experience as lead cook or chef in healthcare, residential, or institutional settings
  • certified food protection manager credential such as ServSafe or equivalent
  • knowledge of special diets including diabetic, low-sodium, and allergy management
  • ability to supervise food service personnel in accordance with BSAS standards
  • experience maintaining sanitary equipment and work areas

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement seasonal menus that accommodate clients dietary requirements while promoting wellness
  • supervise, mentor, and train kitchen staff to uphold food quality and safety
  • ensure efficient kitchen operations including inventory management, food ordering, and cost control
  • maintain compliance with health and safety regulations and a clean, safe kitchen environment
  • collaborate with clinical and operational teams to cater to special dietary needs and therapeutic meal plans
  • maintain food temperature logs and enforce quality control measures
  • foster a positive, team-oriented kitchen environment that values creativity and respect
