Job Requirements
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- Retail or grocery experience preferred
- Minimum one year cashiering experience preferred
- Minimum one year supervising others preferred
- Ability to pass food safety training and maintain certifications
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain focus
- Strong customer service orientation
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to follow instructions and complete tasks
- Must be trained in cashier duties and currency handling
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- Experience in retail, especially grocery or natural foods environment preferred
- At least 1 year of cashiering experience preferred
- At least 1 year of supervising others preferred
- Ability to pass and maintain food safety training and certifications as required by law
- Ability to manage changing priorities and stay focused
- Sense of urgency in task completion
- Excellent customer service skills
- Highly organized with great attention to detail
- Ability to take direction and follow through
- Must be cashier trained and able to count currency
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
Job Duties
- Provide world class customer service and a positive customer experience as the number one priority
- Exemplify integrity, responsibility, and excellence and adhere to all policies
- Train all cashiers and ensure cashiers communicate about the {N}Power program with customers
- Notify customers that we donate $.05 to the local foodbank for every transaction where a customer uses a reusable bag
- Educate customers on the Nutrient to Know About
- Promote store seminars and events
- Complete the daily sales report and cashier closeout responsibilities
- Issue and verify cash drawers
- Handle returns and overrides at the front end
- Address customer complaints appropriately
- Ensure that front end sets are full and well-maintained
- Oversee completion of the front end task list daily
- Maintain all registers binders
- Direct cashiers to tasks during slow times at the register
- Perform general cashiering and checkout duties including running a cash register, bagging/boxing groceries, and providing carry out service
- Monitor, assign and perform cart checks
- Answer the telephone
- Assist in managing special orders
- Monitor, assign and grind nut butters
- Learn the location of products in all departments to direct customers
- Participate in tagging, facing, rotating, cleaning, markdowns, stocking, and backstock as needed
- Work a schedule based on store needs including evenings, weekends, holidays, five days, 40 hours per week with mandatory store meetings
- Maintain limited Manager on Duty role but not overall store manager
- Be hands on and do whatever it takes to get the job done and make the company thrive
