The Head Cashier position at Natural Grocers is a crucial role responsible for the successful operation of the front end of the store. Key responsibilities include providing excellent customer service, training cashiers on important store programs such as the NPower rewards program, promoting store events, handling cash management duties like completing the Daily Sales Report and verifying cash drawers, addressing customer complaints tactfully, maintaining a well-organized front-end area, and ensuring compliance with company policies. The role also demands participation in other store functions including stocking, cleaning, rotating merchandise, and assisting with special orders. Flexibility is essential as the position requires working evenings, weekends, and holidays based on store needs. Ideal candidates for the role have at least a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred experience in retail or grocery environments, and a minimum of one year of cashier and supervisory experience. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, proficiency with basic computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and the ability to take direction and follow through on tasks are vital for success. Candidates should also possess excellent customer service skills and be cashier trained with the ability to count currency accurately.
