The Head Baker at Fargo Country Club plays a vital role in upholding the club's reputation for culinary excellence. This full-time, year-round position is responsible for leading all in-house baking and pastry production, overseeing the creation of desserts, breads, and baked goods served across the club's dining outlets, banquets, and special events. The ideal candidate is a creative and highly organized professional with the ability to produce high-quality, consistent products within a fast-paced club environment. They will collaborate closely with the Executive Chef to develop seasonal dessert menus and specialty features that align with member preferences and current culinary trends.

As the leader of the baking and pastry program, the Head Baker manages daily prep lists, production schedules, inventory, and quality control to ensure efficient operations. The role requires adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, maintenance of a clean and organized workstation, and strict consistency in presentation, portioning, and flavor. Job Requirements

  • high school diploma or equivalent
  • previous experience in baking or pastry production
  • knowledge of food safety and sanitation guidelines
  • ability to work early mornings weekends and holidays

  • physical ability to handle kitchen demands

Job Qualifications

  • previous experience in a bakery pastry or culinary role required
  • strong knowledge of baking techniques doughs and dessert preparation
  • ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • ability to work early mornings weekends and holidays as needed
  • experience in a club hotel or high-volume restaurant environment preferred
  • formal culinary or pastry training preferred
  • experience with menu development and large-scale production preferred

Job Duties

  • prepare all house-made desserts including cakes pastries cookies plated desserts and specialty items
  • produce all bread programs including sandwich breads rolls and specialty loaves
  • execute baked goods for a la carte service banquets and events seasonal and holiday menus
  • maintain consistency in quality portioning and presentation
  • collaborate with the executive chef to develop seasonal dessert menus event and tasting menus specialty features and promotions
  • manage daily prep lists and production schedules
  • ensure all recipes are followed and documented
