This position does not require prior serving experience as on-the-job training is provided, although prior food service experience is preferred. Effective communication skills in English are essential, especially the ability to interpret menus, understand and respond to resident requests, and coordinate meal service efficiently. The Line Cook must be sensitive to the individual needs of elderly residents, ensuring a compassionate and empathetic approach when interacting with them and other stakeholders like families and visitors. The role also requires obtaining relevant certifications such as a Food Handlers card and an OLCC card for individuals aged 18 and over.
