Located in Bristol, CT, Clean Harbors is currently seeking a Class B Driver (Retail Technician) to join their team. The position involves recycling materials like light bulbs, oil, oil filters, engine fluids, and other substances, as well as performing on-site cleanup activities. The Class B Driver is an essential member of the Clean Harbors team responsible for ensuring the safe and compliant handling of various waste materials. Drivers operate box trucks, visit retail customer sites, interact directly with customers, and prepare necessary documentation such as DOT shipping forms. The role requires adherence to stringent health and safety guidelines in line with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company standards. The candidate must be comfortable with physical tasks, use of technology including laptops, handheld devices, printers, and iPhones to complete work assignments efficiently.

This position offers competitive hourly wages ranging from $25.00 to $27.00 per hour, dependent on experience, along with comprehensive benefits that support employee well-being. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CDL Class B or Class A with hazmat and tanker endorsement
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to operate a box truck safely
  • Ability to use a laptop, handheld, printer, and iPhone
  • Physical ability to perform manual tasks
  • Successful completion of background check, drug test, and physical examination
  • Comply with OSHA's respiratory protection facial hair standards

Job Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license required

  • CDL Class B or Class A with hazmat and tanker endorsement
  • Perform physical functions per job requirements
  • Successfully complete a background check, drug test, and physical, by position
  • Per OSHA's respiratory protection standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators are required to meet facial hair standards
  • Previous commercial driving experience
  • Previous route experience
  • Previous manual labor experience

Job Duties

  • Ensure health and safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes and always acting in a safe manner
  • Pick up, pack and transport damaged and discarded goods management, and recalled products
  • Load, pack and segregate materials and waste products
  • Drive a box truck, visiting retail customer sites
  • Segregate, pack and load materials and waste products such as inventory that is damaged or expired for safe transportation
  • Interact with customers at each stop
  • Prepare DOT shipping documents
  • Use a laptop, printer, handheld, and iPhone to complete tasks
