Job Description
Hawaiian Bros Island Grill is a vibrant and growing fast-casual restaurant brand that brings the authentic Aloha Spirit to the Pacific Northwest through exceptional food and genuine hospitality. Located in Happy Valley, Oregon, this establishment is known for its dedication to creating a welcoming atmosphere where teamwork, kindness, and fun are at the center of its culture. Hawaiian Bros Island Grill prides itself on delivering high-quality Hawaiian-inspired dishes in a fast-casual setting, fostering a community-oriented environment for both its employees and guests. With a focus on multi-unit growth, the company offers promising career development opportunities for individuals passionate about leadership and the restaurant industry.
The General Manager (GM) role at Hawaiian Bros Island Grill is a crucial leadership position responsible for opening and managing the high-volume fast-casual restaurant located at 11590 SE 82nd Ave in Happy Valley, OR. This full-time position offers a competitive starting salary of $85,000 annually, supplemented by performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and employee meal discounts. The GM will begin training around June to July 2026, preparing to lead the restaurant’s operations and ensure both business success and an exceptional guest experience.
As the General Manager, you will be expected to lead the Ohana—the Hawaiian term for family—by cultivating a positive and engaging workplace culture that embodies the brand’s values of hospitality, accountability, and teamwork. Your role will involve hands-on leadership and the direct oversight of all restaurant operations from scheduling, labor management, and operational excellence to guest satisfaction and employee development. This includes maintaining speed and accuracy during peak hours, leading both kitchen and service teams efficiently, and ensuring brand standards are consistently upheld.
You will be charged with analyzing operational reports to drive improvements, managing budgets related to labor and food costs, and ensuring strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. The role demands strong organizational skills, excellent communication, and decision-making abilities to navigate the fast-paced restaurant environment. Additionally, the General Manager will play a key role in recruiting, training, coaching, and motivating a diverse team, including assistant managers and shift leaders, to not only meet but exceed performance standards.
With a focus on business performance, your leadership will impact all aspects of the restaurant’s success—from operational metrics including labor percentage and food cost to guest satisfaction and compliance with all relevant regulations. The position requires flexibility to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, averaging 45 to 50 hours per week. Physical demands include standing for extended periods and the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
This career opportunity at Hawaiian Bros Island Grill is ideal for a seasoned restaurant management professional passionate about creating a thriving workplace where every team member feels valued and every guest enjoys a memorable dining experience. The company supports ongoing leadership development, providing clear paths for career advancement within a dynamic and expanding organization. If you are a motivated, team-oriented leader eager to drive operational excellence while embodying the spirit of Aloha, this General Manager position offers a rewarding and impactful role in a supportive and growth-focused company.
