Job Requirements
- Food Handlers card required
- Must be able to pass mandatory screening which may include a background and credit check and drug test
- Must be 21 years plus of age
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a current California gambling establishment team member permit badge or license
- Able to deal effectively and interact well with customers and co-workers
- Available to work any shift including weekends holidays and overtime
- Able to converse in English
- Able to work independently
- Able to work within a team environment
- Must provide evidence of employment eligibility in the U.S.
- Must be able to pass a mandatory drug test criminal background and credit check
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Culinary arts education and training preferred
- Two to three years previous experience in similar field of cuisine
- Possess thorough understanding of sushi techniques including rice preparation fish slicing and working with seaweed nori
- Combination of education and experience acceptable
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve hand rolls made with premium ingredients focusing on simplicity freshness flavor while making sure the nori stays crispy
- Engage with guests at the sushi bar explaining the menu taking orders and providing a friendly and educational experience while preparing hand rolls in front of them
- Ensure consistency in the preparation and presentation of each hand roll adhering to established restaurant standards
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the hand roll bar and workspace at all times including tools and utensils
- Monitor the freshness and quality of fish and other ingredients ensuring all products meet high standards of quality and safety
- Work efficiently to serve customers in a timely manner especially during peak hours without sacrificing quality
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff and other chefs to ensure smooth operations and quick delivery of orders
