Job Requirements

  • Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
  • ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • physical ability to stand, sit, walk, stretch, lift, bend, and carry up to 50 lbs
  • experience in customer service and cash handling
  • ability to operate computers and software
  • strong communication skills
  • ability to work independently and in a team
  • willingness to pass pre-employment screenings including drug test, background check, and motor vehicle record search

Job Qualifications

  • Current certification in CPR, First Aid, and AED or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire
  • experience and knowledge of computer operations and software including Microsoft Office
  • Spanish/English bilingual skills
  • knowledge of customer service principles, incident response methodologies, and municipal organizational structure
  • strong interpersonal, communication, organizational, and collaboration skills
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
  • ability to communicate effectively with diverse populations

Job Duties

  • Collects and handles cash
  • greets all patrons in a timely manner and inquire about their activities to ensure safety
  • answers and transfers a high volume of telephone calls
  • provides quality customer service through developing relationships with participants, community members, and organizations
  • participates in regular team meetings to maintain consistency across recreation facilities
  • learns and uses recreation management software for membership sales, program registration, facility rentals, and point of sale services
  • assists with updating marketing materials, website, and social media
  • enforces risk management and emergency response procedures
