Job Qualifications

graduation from high school or g.e.d.
course work in business practices or bookkeeping
four years guest services and/or clerical experience of progressively responsible nature
or equivalent combination of training and experience

Job Duties

maintains a visitor center lobby that promotes bakersfield as a destination for visitors
promotes tourism and event opportunities to bakersfield visitors
keeps informed on aspects of area-wide activities to assist visitors
works closely with local lodging establishments and attractions to gather and maintain comprehensive inventory of information on bakersfield amenities and events
serves as a liaison with travel partners to assure visitors have the most up-to-date information
serves as a liaison with travel writers to suggest accommodations, attractions, and amenities
