Job Qualifications
- graduation from high school or g.e.d.
- course work in business practices or bookkeeping
- four years guest services and/or clerical experience of progressively responsible nature
- or equivalent combination of training and experience
Job Duties
- maintains a visitor center lobby that promotes bakersfield as a destination for visitors
- promotes tourism and event opportunities to bakersfield visitors
- keeps informed on aspects of area-wide activities to assist visitors
- works closely with local lodging establishments and attractions to gather and maintain comprehensive inventory of information on bakersfield amenities and events
- serves as a liaison with travel partners to assure visitors have the most up-to-date information
- serves as a liaison with travel writers to suggest accommodations, attractions, and amenities
