The role of Guest Services Concierge at Baylor Scott & White Health is an integral part of their commitment to providing outstanding patient and visitor experiences. This position involves personalized service to guests and patients, ensuring their needs are met with professionalism and care. The Guest Services Concierge acts as the welcoming face of the hospital, greeting patients, families, and visitors warmly and offering guidance on local amenities and services. Responsibilities include answering questions about dining options, hotels, transportation, pharmacies, and other nearby conveniences that may be helpful to visitors.

Additionally, the role requires the concierge to assist in navigating the hospital environment by providing escorts to patients and guests, especially to hard-to-find areas. They are tasked with maintaining standards of customer service excellence, keeping the lobby and surrounding areas clean and welcoming, and ensuring that information about facilities and local attractions is current and easily accessible. Strong communication skills and effective problem-solving abilities are essential, as the concierge must identify and address visitors’ needs, resolve issues when possible, and escalate concerns to supervisors when necessary.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Less than one year of experience
  • Skilled in the use of computers and related software applications
  • Excellent verbal communication and non-verbal listening skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Ability to handle difficult situations effectively and resolve complaints
  • Ability to maintain focus on patient and guest needs and details

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Less than one year of experience
  • Skilled in the use of computers and related software applications
  • Good verbal communication and listening skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • Knowledge of methods and benefits for providing customer service
  • Ability to focus on crucial patient and guest details
  • Ability to diffuse anger, collect information and resolve complaints

Job Duties

  • Greets patients, families and visitors in a friendly professional manner
  • Answers questions and lists local amenities including dining, hotels, restaurants, flower shops, bus schedules, airline information, car rental services, and pharmacies
  • Identifies and reports visitors, guests and patients needs and resolves customer issues or escalates to supervisor as required
  • Provides escorts for patients and visitors to hard-to-find hospital areas and refers them to services addressing their needs and concerns
  • Maintains standards of customer service excellence
  • Maintains current information and materials regarding facilities, services and local restaurants and attractions
  • Cleans and reports the status of assigned equipment and maintains cleanliness of the lobby and surrounding areas
