The role of the Guest Services Concierge is integral to maintaining the high standards of customer service excellence Baylor Scott & White Health is known for. The Guest Services Concierge acts as the welcoming face for patients, their families, and visitors by providing personalized assistance and guidance throughout their time in the hospital or healthcare facility.

Key responsibilities include greeting and assisting guests, answering questions about local amenities such as dining, hotels, transport services, and pharmacies, as well as providing escorts to hard-to-find areas within the hospital. The Concierge resolves visitor issues or escalates them appropriately to supervisors, ensuring a seamless and positive experience for everyone. Attention to detail and a proactive approach to anticipating needs are critical in this role.

The Concierge also plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the lobby and surrounding areas, as well as keeping information materials up to date. Equipped with skills in computer use and effective communication, the ideal candidate will excel in making all visitors feel welcomed, valued, and supported. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • less than 1 year of experience
  • able to communicate verbally and listen effectively
  • basic computer skills
  • ability to maintain professionalism and customer service standards
  • ability to handle multiple priorities and resolve complaints
  • ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

Job Qualifications

  • Education - high school diploma or GED equivalent
  • experience - less than 1 year
  • skilled in the use of computers and related software applications
  • good verbal communication and non-verbal effective listening skills
  • ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
  • ability to focus on crucial patient and guest details
  • ability to diffuse anger, collect information and resolve complaints

Job Duties

  • Greets patients, families and visitors in a friendly professional manner
  • answers questions and lists local amenities including dining, local hotels, restaurants, flower shops, bus schedules, airline information, car rental services, and pharmacies
  • identifies and reports visitors, guests and patients needs
  • resolves customer issues or escalates to supervisor, as required
  • provides escorts for patients and visitors to hard-to-find hospital areas
  • refers patients and visitors to services that address their needs and concerns
  • maintains standards of customer service excellence
  • maintains current information and materials regarding facilities, services and local restaurants and attractions
  • cleans and reports the status of assigned equipment
  • maintains cleanliness of the lobby and surrounding areas
