Job Description
Populus Seattle, a boutique hotel located in the heart of Seattle's historic Pioneer Square, is part of Aparium Hospitality Services, a company dedicated to redefining the hotel experience through a focus on People, Place, and Character. Established within a historic 1907 building, Populus Seattle blends the historic essence of the Pacific Northwest with modern luxury and thoughtful design. The hotel features 120 uniquely designed rooms, including the neighborhood’s first rooftop bar, a signature restaurant, and interiors that evoke the natural beauty of a Pacific Northwest rainforest. Aparium Hospitality is recognized for its commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, creating a welcoming and supportive environment for both guests and employees. As an Equal Opportunity Employer and an E-Verify participant, Aparium takes pride in fostering a culture where individuality and community spirit are celebrated.
The Guest Services Ambassador (Overnight), a part-time non-exempt position reporting to the Guest Services Manager, plays a vital role in creating unforgettable guest experiences at Populus Seattle. This role transcends traditional front desk duties by actively owning and enhancing every aspect of the guest journey. The Ambassador is not merely a receptionist but a proactive hospitality professional dedicated to anticipating guest needs and personalizing stay experiences. This position requires a hands-on approach, where the Ambassador frequently steps beyond the desk to assist guests directly, ensuring seamless service from arrival to departure.
Working the overnight shift primarily from 11 pm to 7 am, including weekends and holidays, the Ambassador is the heart of the guest experience during quieter hours while maintaining high standards of hospitality and professionalism. Responsibilities encompass mastering hotel systems to handle reservations accurately, accommodating special guest requests, and serving as a knowledgeable guide for all hotel amenities and experiences. Ambassadors are expected to be detail-oriented, ensuring no guest request is overlooked, and flexible enough to support various operational roles such as bellman, valet, or greeter as required. This dedication to a remarkable guest experience is supported by a competitive hourly wage of $27.00 and a comprehensive benefits package.
This position also offers significant employee benefits, including paid vacation, Seattle Paid Sick and Safe time, holidays, competitive medical, dental, vision, and pet insurance, and a 401(k) with employer matching. Importantly, employees are encouraged to engage with and support their communities through paid volunteer time, reinforcing Aparium's commitment to social responsibility and employee well-being. The Ambassador role is ideal for hospitality professionals passionate about service excellence, community connection, and working within a team-oriented, values-driven environment. Joining Populus Seattle as a Guest Services Ambassador offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a distinctive hotel operation that honors both its historic roots and innovative spirit.
